"He was always so cool," says Ward Curran of his teammate and standout quarterback, Bobby Alexander. During one stressful halftime when Dan Jessee was raging, Ward looked over to see Bobby at the mirror, calmly combing his hair.
Along with Charlie Sticka, Bobby led to team to back-to-back undefeated seasons — its first in history — in 1954 and 1955. During his senior year, Bobby threw for 17 touchdowns and was elected to second team Little All America. He was drafted by the Chicago Bears, although did not spend any time playing in the pros.
Born in Pennsylvania, Bobby grew up in Hartford, the son of an accountant, and was a standout athlete at Bulkeley High School. At Trinity, he earned a rarely bestowed Blanket Award for achieving three letters each in football and baseball, along with one more for basketball. In 1957, he married Nancy Lee Prudhon and they settled in Bridgeport, CT. Bobby later lived in Boca Raton, FL.
