Indians

Years

1940-88

Very shortly after it was chosen, the nickname "Mohawks" transitioned into "Indians" and stuck for the next 48 years.

Siena College Athletics carried the "Indians" name into big-time basketball in the late 1940's and early 1950's, the 1950 NCIT Title, into Division I athletics in 1976, and up until its first Division I national postseason appearance in 1988.

The history and heritage that came from the "Siena College Indians", the "Tee Pee Rowdies", and all the glory that the era produced, will never be forgotten.
