Brian Burres (MHCC Baseball Player) While playing baseball at Mt. Hood Community College, Brian Burres was the Southern Region MVP, 1st team all-NWAC, 1st team NWAC All-Tournament team, and was a key leader on the 2000 MHCC NWAC Championship baseball team. Burres, played 16 years of professional baseball; parts of six years in the Major Leagues with the Baltimore Orioles, Pittsburg Pirates and the Toronto Blue Jays, as well as internationally in Taiwan, Mexico, and Venezuela. Burres recently served as an assistant coach at MHCC for 2 years (2017, 2018) and was the head coach in the WCL for the Cowlitz Black Bears. Burres completed his degree in economics from Portland State University, paid for by the MLB college scholarship plan. He graduated Suma Cum Laude with a 3.9 GPA.
