Aubrey “Cob” Fowler was an elite tailback for the Wonder Boy football team in 1939, 1940 and 1945. During the 1945 season, he led the nation in scoring for the then undefeated AIC Champions. Fowler averaged 34 yards on 27 punts in the 1939 championship game. He was inducted into the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame in 1982.
