Dana (Aldrich) Nichols played softball at Tech from 2007-2008 and was a star pitcher in the circle for the Golden Suns.

Individually, she was named First Team All-GSC West in 2008 and was named the West Division Player and Pitcher of the Year that same year. That season, Nichols pitched the program’s first two perfect games as she did so initially against UAPB in February and later against West Georgia in April.

Additionally, Nichols was instrumental in leading the Golden Suns to their first-ever conference championship as the team captured the GSC West Division regular season championship with a 20-9 record in league play. The 2008 Golden Suns also set a program record for wins in a season with 41. It was the first of what has been seven 40-win seasons.

She is currently the single-season record-holder in Wins (26; 2008) and Appearances (44; 2008). Nichols also ranks in the Top-10 in a single season in Innings Pitched (2nd; 216.0, 2008), Strikeouts (3rd; 220, 2008), Complete Games (T-4th; 19, 2008) Saves (T-4th; 5, 2008) Shutouts (T-6th; 5, 2008) and ERA (10th; 1.78, 2008).

In terms of career ranks, Nichols is in the Top-10 in Strikeouts (4th; 269), Innings Pitched (4th; 365.0 IP), Complete Games (4th; 30), Wins (T-5th; 32), Shutouts (T-5th; 7), ERA (6th; 2.54), Saves (8th; 5) and Appearances (9th; 74).
