Eric Burnett played basketball at Tech from 1989-90 – 1992-93 and was a two-time All-AIC player (1992 & 1993). In his senior season, Burnett was named an Honorable Mention All-American.
One of the best men’s basketball players all-time at Tech, Burnett currently ranks in the Top-10 for a career in Rebounding (5th – 775), Points Scored (6th – 1,981), Steals (T-8th, 150) and Assists (10th – 343). He is also one of five Wonder Boys all-time with over 1,500 points scored and 700 rebounds for a career.
With his college career coming in the early years of the three-point line, Burnett demonstrated how dangerous of a weapon outside shooting could be and has several records to validate. He currently holds the single-season record for Highest Three-Point Field Goal Percentage in a season (.546 [84-of-154]; 1989-90) and has career records in most Made Three-Point Shots (354) and Attempts (819).
In addition to his long-range shooting, Burnett was also successful in other areas on the court and ranks in the Top-10 all-time in Field Goals Made (10th, 615) and Field Goals Attempted (9th; 1,302)
Burnett previously served on the ATU Board of Trustees for two terms and served as Chair in 2021 and 2015.
