Bridget (Pyles) Freeman played volleyball at Tech from 1997-2000 where she was a middle blocker. In her time, Freeman helped lead the Golden Suns to three GSC West Division Regular Season Championships (2000, 1999 & 1997). All three of those championship years, Freeman and the Golden Suns went undefeated in conference play.

Individually, Freeman was a two-time First Team AVCA All-Region honoree (1999 & 2000) and was a three-time All-GSC West selection with First Team honors in 1999 & 2000. Freeman bookended her career with “…of the Year” awards as she was the GSC West Freshman of the Year in 1997 and the GSC West Player of the Year in 2000.

A genuine definition of a student-athlete, Freeman was a three-time CoSIDA Academic All-District honoree with First Team honors twice and was a two-time recipient of the GSC Top-Ten Award. In the spring of 2001, Freeman was lauded as the GSC Commissioner’s Trophy Award winner as the highest honor bestowed by the GSC.

Statistically, Freeman ranks highly in numerous career and single-season categories. Within a single-season, Freeman ranks in the Top-10 in nine categories and holds records in Hitting Percentage (.412 [512-130-927]; 2000), Sets Played (144; 1998) and Matches Played (41; 2000). She is also one of just four Golden Suns to reach 500 or more kills in a season.

In terms of career marks, Freeman also currently stands in the Top-10 of nine categories and is in the Top-5 in six of those. Her career Hitting Percentage mark of .325 (1,452-492-2,955) and 1973.5-point total are both records. Her 1,452 career kills rank fifth all-time and make her one of just 16 players to reach the 1,000-kill milestone.
