Norm Angelini played baseball for three of his four years at Serra. "Serra has always had a great baseball program and I wanted to be a part of it," he remembered. "I was a left-handed pitcher and played on the freshman team. I got cut from the sophomore team but made the varsity team for the following two years. As luck would have it, that team has two left-handed starters already. I pitched in a few games those two years and did well when I had the chance. "My four years at Serra were very challenging. Coming from Half Moon Bay at that time was tough. There were only a few of us attending Serra from our little town back then but we ended up with a great education and friend that I still stay in touch with today."
After high school, Norm played baseball for two years at the College of San Mateo. He ended with a record of 19-1 and made the All-Conference team both years. He received a scholarship to Washington State University, where he played baseball for two years and was 12-1. Norm was named to the Pac-8 All-American Team in 1969.
After graduating from college, Norm played professional baseball with the Kansas City Royals. In 1972, he was called up to the Major Leagues.
