Anthony Renda

Tony Renda played Major League Baseball for the Cincinnati Reds in 2016 and the Boston Red Sox in 2018. 

During his baseball career at Serra, Renda set the all-time career runs scored (120) and career hits record (139). He was a 2009 High School All-American, as well as both the 2009 San Mateo County Player of the Year and 2009 West Catholic Athletic League Player of the Year, leading his team to the Central Coast Section title.

After graduating from Serra, Renda attended the University of California, at Berkeley, and played college baseball for the Golden Bears. Among three-year players at Cal, Renda is the leader in hits (244) and doubles (51). He was a three-time First Team All-Conference Selection and the 2011 Pac 10 Player of the Year. 

Renda led his team to a College World Series appearance in 2011 and was a two-time All-American.

Following his junior year at Cal, Renda was drafted in the second round by the Washington Nationals. Over eight professional seasons, Renda collected 742 hits, 161 doubles, and 117 stolen bases. He was part of the 2018 World Series Champion Boston Red Sox and retired following the 2019 season
