Barry S. Gluck, a distinguished Senior Management Executive with a career spanning over 45 years, is renowned nationally for his expertise in retailing and is revered as a mentor to future business leaders, a benefactor to universities, and the founder of the philanthropic foundation, The Fallen Angels. Born to Colonel Fred and Irene Gluck, he moved to Fairborn during his 8th grade due to his father's service in the Air Force. Gluck graduated from Fairborn High School at the age of 16 in 1969, actively participating in various clubs and earning a varsity letter as a member of the tennis team. Fondly recalling his time in Fairborn, he cherishes the friendships he made during his high school years.

While his father served in Vietnam, Gluck attended Wright State University before moving to The Ohio State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science and International Relations. Despite initially pursuing law school at the University of Dayton, Gluck shifted his focus to a management program in retailing with Rikes Department Stores, where he laid the foundation for a remarkable career that would significantly impact the nationwide retailing business.

Commencing his retail career at Rikes Department Stores, Gluck swiftly rose through the ranks to become Buyer and then Divisional Group Store Manager. He later served as Divisional Manager of Menswear at Diamonds Department Store in Arizona before joining Macy's Department Stores in Atlanta, Georgia, as the Vice President of Mens, Young Mens, Boys, and Luggage. Gluck's career trajectory reached new heights when he joined Ross Stores, a small West Coast off-price retailer, where he retired after seventeen years as Executive Vice President of Merchandising, Marketing, Store Planning & Allocation. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in significantly expanding the company's annual sales from $250 million to an impressive $6 billion and growing the store base from 150 stores to over 1000 nationally.

Noteworthy for consistently surpassing revenue targets, Gluck's influence extended beyond his executive roles at Ross Stores through his service on both public and private boards of directors for various retailers. Currently, as the founder of Gluck Consulting LLC, he serves as Managing Director, contributing to the growth strategies of various retail organizations while also introducing off-price retail to countries lacking off-price options.

Beyond his corporate endeavors, Gluck's commitment to community involvement and philanthropy is evident through his charitable initiatives. The Fallen Angels Foundation, co-founded with his wife Joan, focuses on aiding those facing homelessness, abandonment, and abuse, with a particular emphasis on supporting women, children, and at-risk animals. Additionally, Gluck supports small business startups as an angel investor and contributes to the educational advancement of future business leaders through endowments and mentoring programs at The Ohio State and Notre Dame Universities.

Presently, Gluck resides in New Hope, Pennsylvania, with his wife Joan and their dog, Colonel. His daughters, Jessica and Meredith, reside in New Jersey and New York City, respectively. The family enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, golf, and pickleball, along with their shared passion for The Ohio State and Notre Dame athletics.
