Joseph R. Cottone quarterbacked NU’s football team from 1968 to 1970, gaining All-ECAC Division III and All-New England Division III honors. Jay earned a Master in Education in Physical Education at Norwich and was a Physical Education teacher and coach for football, skiing, and track from 1977 to 1981. At the time of induction in 1983, Jay was the head football coach at Plymouth State College, where he held a 19-game winning streak (19-1 overall, 1981-82). Jay has been published in the Athletic Journal.
