Beth Adams Spak – a 1996 graduate
During her time at St. Pius, Beth was the epitome of a multi-sport athlete, earning varsity letters in softball, basketball, and tennis. She was recognized as Best Defensive Player as well as All Tournament team multiple times for both softball and basketball.
As captain of the 1995 softball team, she helped lead the Golden Lions to the 1995 Class AAA State Championship, capping the season with a .456 batting average and an astounding .583 average in the State Tournament. Her performance earned her All-State honors, Player of the Year, and Finals MVP. In addition to her athletic achievements Beth consistently earned Honor Roll status.
After St. Pius, Beth joined the University of Georgia’s inaugural softball program. She was a four-year starter and left UGA as the program’s all-time leader in hits and stolen bases. She was a three-time SEC Academic Honor Roll honoree, NFCA Academic All-American, recipient of the Peach of an Athlete Award, and a three-time Team Defensive Player of the Year. Beth still ranks among UGA’s career leaders in stolen bases, hits, runs, triples, walks, hardest to strike out, and sacrifice hits.
Beth earned her master’s degree in Applied Exercise Science from Springfield College, launching a career in strength and conditioning and coaching. She has served as a collegiate strength coach, and trained U.S. and Greek National Team players leading up to the 2004 Athens Olympics. She has also coached state championship-winning high school softball teams. Today, she operates Spak Sports and Fitness Development while serving as an assistant softball coach at Blessed Trinity Catholic High School.
Beth has been deeply involved with Strive for Girls, a program dedicated to empowering young female athletes through skill development, leadership, and confidence-building.
From her days leading St. Pius to a state title to her ongoing commitment to developing athletes, Beth’s career is defined by her competitive spirit, leadership, and dedication to helping others succeed both on and off the field and we are thrilled to induct Beth in to the St. Pius Athletic Hall of Fame.
