In remembrance of Georgia Gwinnett College’s biggest fan and an NAIA Baseball innovator.

As a GGC student in his freshman year, Cody attended his first Grizzly baseball game in Lawrenceville and immediately became hooked. Cody’s presence was noticeable at the Grizzly Baseball Complex both in person and on social media. As the years went on, Cody would develop connections with visiting coaches, players and fans. He identified a large void in coast-to-coast NAIA baseball coverage.

This became the foundation of the brand Cody created called NAIA Ball. In 2017, along with Robbie Gutierrez, NAIA Ball expanded into a weekly podcast that quickly jumped into the Apple Top 100 sports podcast. The NAIA Ball twitter account has grown to over 33 thousand followers with daily score updates and reaction from around the nation.

Cody became the foremost authority on NAIA baseball. In 2018 and 2019, Cody had the opportunity to attend the NAIA World Series in Lewiston, Idaho as the Grizzlies captured back-to-back Semifinalists Trophies. In addition, Cody was able to cover the action in 2021 when the Grizzlies won their first NAIA national championship.
