Senior BriEllen Kononen continues to build an unforgettable season, earning WIAA Athlete of the Week honors to go along with her Skagit Valley Herald recognition. She delivered a dominant performance at the plate, reaching base in 12 of 13 appearances while going 6-for-7 with three doubles, a home run, seven RBIs, 11 runs scored, and five walks. Defensively, she was perfect at second base. Kononen leads the Cubs in multiple categories and made history by setting the school record for career runs scored (156), adding to her legacy as the program’s all-time stolen base leader.
