MESSAGE FROM COACH ANDERSON
On Senior Night with major playoff implications on the line, the Cubs delivered one of their most dramatic wins of the season, walking it off in the seventh to defeat Ferndale 5–4. In a game that felt like postseason baseball from the first pitch, Ferndale grabbed control early with two runs in the third, then added runs in the sixth and seventh to take a 4–1 lead into the final frame. Down to their last three outs, the Cubs responded.
Sedro-Woolley came alive in the bottom of the seventh, putting runners on and forcing the issue. The lineup stayed composed, working quality at-bats and applying pressure until the moment opened up. That moment belonged to Senior Michael Lloyd. With the game on the line, Lloyd delivered a walk-off double, driving in the winning runs and completing the Cubs’ four-run rally to secure the 5–4 victory. Lloyd finished a perfect night at the plate: 3-for-3 with a double and 2 RBIs, including the game-winner
The rally was supported by contributions throughout:
- Sophomore Treysen Plymale: 2 hits and 3 stolen bases, consistently creating pressure
- Senior Ryder Arellano: reached base twice and helped keep the rally going
- Senior Lane Guffie: Kept the line moving with a walk
- Junior Colby Silvis: delivered a key RBI with a walk
- Senior Talon Thompson: aggressive on the bases, scoring twice and swiping 3 bags
On the mound, Senior Trey Gardner battled through 6.1 innings, keeping the Cubs within striking distance despite Ferndale’s late runs. Senior Jacob Martin came on in relief to finish the game and give the offense a chance in the final inning.
