SEDRO-WOOLLEY (30) – SHOREWOOD (0) – 5 INNINGS
Sedro-Woolley opened the postseason with a dominant 30-0 victory over Shorewood behind another outstanding pitching performance and an explosive offensive showing. The Cubs scored a season-high 30 runs while continuing their remarkable stretch in the circle, improving to 20-2 overall and extending their home winning streak to nine games. Sedro-Woolley’s balance of elite pitching, aggressive baserunning, and lineup depth immediately established the Cubs as a serious state title contender.
SEDRO-WOOLLEY (18) – INGLEMOOR (0) – 5 INNINGS
Sedro-Woolley continued its dominant postseason run with an 18-0 victory over Inglemoor behind another overpowering performance from senior ace Kasandra Gonzalez. Gonzalez extended her no-hit streak through a second straight game while the Cubs’ offense exploded behind home runs from BriEllen Kononen, Gonzalez, and McKenna Lewellen. Vivian Lanphere sparked the offense with a leadoff double, while Reagan Evans added an RBI double as Sedro-Woolley piled up runs in every inning to secure another run-rule win and advance deeper into the state tournament.
SEDRO-WOOLLEY (10) – ROOSEVELT (0) – 6 INNINGS
In the state semifinal against Roosevelt, Sedro-Woolley earned a 10-0 run-rule victory to advance to the Class 3A state championship game. Gonzalez extended her remarkable no-hit streak while Reagan Evans launched a home run and BriEllen Kononen added an RBI double. The Cubs broke the game open late with six additional runs before Gonzalez delivered a walk-off RBI single to secure Sedro-Woolley’s spot in the state finals.
MT. SPOKANE (7) – SEDRO-WOOLLEY (5)
Sedro-Woolley’s season concluded with a hard-fought 7-5 loss to Mt. Spokane in the Class 3A state championship game in Lacey. After trailing early, the Cubs responded behind home runs from Kasandra Gonzalez and VeAnna Lanphere to take a 5-3 lead. Mt. Spokane answered late with a go-ahead two-run homer in the sixth inning before holding off Sedro-Woolley in the seventh, ending one of the most successful seasons in program history with a state runner-up finish.
