Congratulations to Kasandra Gonzalez on being named the 2026 Skagit Valley Herald Softball Player of the Year for the third consecutive season. Kasandra capped off an extraordinary career at Sedro-Woolley by leading the Cubs to a 24-3 record and a Class 3A State Championship appearance while dominating both in the circle and at the plate. She finished her career as the school's all-time leader in strikeouts (721), wins (51), strikeouts per seven innings, and WHIP, while also posting a .578 batting average with eight home runs during her senior season.
Beyond the numbers, Kasandra's leadership, work ethic, and competitive drive have made a lasting impact on our program. Earlier this year, she signed to continue her academic and softball career at Cal State Fullerton, where she will compete at the Division I level. We are incredibly proud of all she has accomplished.
