After graduating from Trinity High School, Joseph Krol attended the United States Naval Academy and spent the next 36 years serving in the Navy. His impressive naval career included serving on five different nuclear powered submarines and commanding submarines in the Arctic, Afghanistan, and Iraq. Joseph was also stationed in the Pentagon during the terrorist attack of 9/11.
Following his retirement from the US Navy, he served in the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). He was responsible for worldwide nuclear counterterrorism and the search for and rendering safe of radiological and nuclear materials. As the Director of Emergency Operations, he was responsible for emergency management policy and support in nuclear and radiological emergencies, both within the United States and abroad.
