When looking back to the 1972 Trinity High School yearbook, one can see that Michael Passalacqua was as successful then as he is now. Passalacqua was a member of the Trinity Student Council, a homeroom officer, the Lettermen’s Club, as well as the cross-country, wrestling, Senior Hi-Y, and cycle teams. He was also listed as a Section III champion in wrestling. As a teenager, Passalacqua worked as a busboy in his parent’s restaurant, Angelo's.
After graduating from Trinity, Passalacqua went on to continue his education at Kent State University. He did not pursue a degree or certification in culinary arts; instead he earned a degree in law enforcement. He was working as a police officer in Ohio in the early 1980s when he got a call from his parents asking if he would come home and work at the family restaurant. Then, in 1992, he took over proprietorship of Angelo's, making him a third-generation owner. In 2009, he was honored by being named Pennsylvania Restaurateur of the Year.
Angelo's Restaurant has been a staple in Washington for 79 years. Passalacqua’s philanthropic work has made a difference in countless lives, not just in Trinity but throughout the Greater Washington community. Countless spaghetti dinners, personally served, have aided school activities and people in need.
