Chambers was born to be a Hiller. Throughout his high school career he was a member of Student Council, the Varsity Club, the Hi-Y Club and active in the Community Service Organization. He was also a member of the Varsity Football and Basketball teams.

Chambers graduated with a degree in Economics from West   Virginia Wesleyan in 1979.  He    is President of the family-owned Chambers Insurance Agency.  He was one of the first Agent/Company insurance panel representatives for Highmark Blue Cross/Blue Shield nearly 30 years ago. He is a past President of both the CNA Insurance Company/Agency Advisory Panel and The Meadows Standardbred Owners Association. Chambers is extremely active in the district as he is currently on the Trinity School Board Safety Committee as well as the Finance Committee. He has served as the President of the Trinity Varsity Football Boosters. He is a former volunteer and mentor for Big Brothers and Big Sisters of America.
