Dr. Andrew Goudy’s high achievement and dedicated service to his profession, students, and community make him an exemplary Trinity Hiller. As a student at Trinity High School, he studied along the academic pathway, joined the Future Teachers and Lettermen’s Club, and participated in track. Today, he remains active in Washington County by serving as a member of the Rotary Club and President of the Washington Chapter’s NAACP.
Dr. Goudy earned BS and MS degrees in Chemistry from Indiana University of PA, and a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh. For 24 years, he worked as a faculty member in the Chemistry Department at West Chester University, where he has been recognized as Professor Emeritus. During his tenure, he served as Chair of the Chemistry Department and Acting Dean of the College of Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Technology. Alongside his students and with the support of agencies such as the National Science Foundation, Department of Energy, Department of Transportation, and BP Foundation, he has conducted research in the area of hydrogen storage. In 2017, his research team was granted a patent for a hydride system for hydrogen storage applications.
