The most known Lancer alum is New York Yankee ace Gerrit Cole.  Cole graduated from Orange Lutheran in 2008.  After high school, Gerrit went on to lead the UCLA Bruins to the College World Series.

Gerrit was drafted as the number one overall pick by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2011.  Cole has spent time in the Major Leagues with the Pirates, the Astros, and the Yankees.  He has become one of the best pitchers in baseball. 

He has compiled a career record of 117-63 with a 3.20ERA.  He also has 1,673 career strikeouts.  He is a 4x time all star (2015, 2018, 2019, 2021). 

Gerrit led the American League in both strikeouts and ERA in 2019 for the Astros, and was the American League wins leader in 2021 for the New York Yankees.
